New Spawnpoint Update 1.0.0

Hello everyone!

I will make regular posts whenever there are significant server updates. However, only on our Discord channel, will you find private information.

The current server version is 1.21.5. It is not the latest (1.21.10) because at the time the server was updated to use Terra (the world generator), it was stuck at 1.21.4 for compatibility. Regardless, since everyone’s last time here, which was many years ago, this is relevant information about the updates.

0. Issues + Fixes

  • FIXED: /home not working inside Adventurer’s Guild.
  • FIXED: /mv spawn didn’t take player back to New Spawnpoint spawn.
  • NOT AN ISSUE: EliteMob Skeletons still appearing on Spawn Island. They’re low level enough to be dealt with. It’s all good.
  • FIXED: Tree Cuter didn’t work.
  • NOT AN ISSUE: Dynmap worlds were purged, so returning players to the new map can explore the world anew. Only Amber and I played it earlier this year. We don’t want to ruin the surprise for anyone else.

1. Additions, Replacement, Removals

  • REMOVED: MCMMO
    • Was removed back in February this year, because it’s a pain in the ass to keep it updated.
  • ADDED: Cut down whole trees
    • To help mitigate oddly-chopped trees, especially large ones, the Tree Cuter plugin was installed. Sneak + hit the bottom block of a tree to cut the whole thing down. Yes, “Cuter” is spelled incorrectly and it bothers me too.
  • REPLACED: Magic Carpet
    • Requires Time Charges to function. All players earn 3♥ per 10 minutes in-game. Go to New Spawnpoint spawn to see the time packages you can purchase.
  • REPLACED: Creating Home Warps
    • 5 homes can be set for the overworld,
    • 3 homes can be set for the Nether,
    • and 3 homes can be set for The End.
    • Use /home [name] to go there.
    • /delhome [name] to delete a home.
    • /sethome [name] to set a home location.
    • /homes list all of your homes.
  • REPLACED: World Spawn
    • /mv spawn takes you to the current world’s spawn.
    • If you’re at the adventure guild, do /mv spawn and then talk to Cecil Cimi to take you back to New Spawnpoint.
  • ADDED: New Spawnpoint Traders
    • They sell and buy a wide assortment of things. For example, Coffee and Vijan will convert your buttons, doors, trapdoors, plates, and fences back to their raw source material. You know, sometimes you might accidentally make 64 buttons… Note that all trader prices are experimental, and may change in the future.
  • ADDED: New Spawnpoint Sell/Buy signs
    • Most of these are things you can sell or buy using ♥. There are also two signs where you can repair your item in hand and cost a hefty amount. Specifically useful when you have a high-level enchanted item on the verge of breaking.
  • ADDED: EliteMobs
    • Unlike the previous renditions of this plugin, this one actually mostly works. Most EliteMobs will not spawn on Spawn Island, except low level skeletons. The Adventurer’s Guild, a few dungeons, and the Colosseum are ready to play. /em to access your character stats.
  • REMOVED: Certain mobs on Spawn Island
    • Pillagers, Creepers, Witches, Slimes, Phantoms, Endermen, Zombie and Villager Zombie spawns on Spawn Island. You will still find them in the lands beyond.

2. To Do

Continue to monitor EliteMobs, since this is a Work-in-Progress. Amber and I have only played two of the Dungeons – Primis and Catacombs. We tried Sewers, but it was too hard at level 1-3. If players enjoy the dungeons enough, I may add more.
